Casamance from Zinguinchor

DETAILED PROGRAM

Day 1: ZIGUINCHOR – DJIBELOR – OUSSOUYE (About 40km /45mn)
Morning welcome  at port or airport. Visit of the floral garden and crocodile’s farm of Djibelor, hidden  in a beautiful tropical florest. Continuation and lunch at Emamaye Ecocamp in Oussouye , capital of “Basse Casamance. Visit of the surrounding villages:  women potters of Edioungou, cashew nutss processing workshop and audience with the  King of Oussouye in the “sacred forest” (depending of his availability) . Dinner and overnight at Emanaye Ecocamp.

DAY 2 : OUSSOUYE – MLOMP – KARABANE (About 20 km/25mn road + 30mn boat)
Road to Mlomp, stop to visit its traditional storey houses, the interesting Diola museum and the unique architecture of this village. Continuation to Elinkine village to board motorised pirogue for a mini cruise in the river Casamance to join  Karabane Island. Lunch in hotel Karabane. Afternoon  visit of historical  Karabane Island, first French trading port in Casamance: Cemetery, Breton church, Hospital.  Dinner and overnight in Karabane hotel.

DAY 3 : KARABANE – KACHOUANE – KARABANE (About 40 mn of dugout/trip)
Day trip to the village of Kachouane located a few miles from the delta of Casamance River. Visit of Kachouane village surrounded  by paddy fields,  lunch in Sounka Camp aling a coconut beach  and overlooking the mangrove. Back to Karabane in the afternoon.

Dinner and overnight in Karabane hotel.

DAY 4: KARABANE – CAP SKIRING (About 30 mn boat +  road 50 km/01h)
Boat to Elinkine,  fishermen village , then drive to Cap Skiring Resort, located on one of the most beautiful beaches of Senegal. Accomodation  at Hotel Maya . Lunch and chill out  at  Cap Skiring on a beautiful beach stretching out of sight. Dinner and overnight at Maya hotel

DAY 5: CAP SKIRING – DJIMBERING – ZIGUINCHOR (About 100km/01h40)
Morning visit to the traditional village of Djimbering, with its giants kapok trees, The place is known for its annual festival of ricefields  Walk in Ecoparc with a forest guide.   Back to Cap Skiring for lunch then drive to Ziguinchor for a city tour; visit to the tropical garden, the French cultural center and Saint Maure market. Dinner and overnight in Kadiandoumangne hotel.

 DAY 6 : ZIGUINCHOR / PORT  or  ZIGUINCHOR/AIRPORT
Transfer to airport or port and boarding to join Dakar.
