Classified as a "Biosphere Reserve" by UNESCO, the Bijagos Archipelago in Guinea Bissau fascinates with the tropical beauty of its pristine beaches and the diversity of its flora and fauna, such as the mysterious sea hippopotamus and the green turtle. Also preserved from tourism, the animist populations will seduce you by their simplicity and their traditions.

Itinerary
DAY 1: BISSAU / QUINHAMEL 30 km approx. 30 min drive
Arrival in Bissau
Reception at the airport and transfer to Quinhamel at hotel 7 Djorson ** or similar
Night at the hotel
DAY 2: QUINHAMEL / ORANGO NATIONAL PARK 70 km - approx. 3 hours by boat.
Visit Quinhamel and the three "Balobas" sacred places of ethnic Pepels, founders of the Kingdom of Tor. Stop at the old distillery rum still runned by a Portuguese and visit a factory weaving loincloth. Lunch and departure by boat for the Orango National Park in the heart of the archipelago with one hundred islands. Accomodation for 4 nights at Orango Parque Hotel buried in a forest and at the edge of a paradise beach.

DAY 3: ORANGO - VILLAGE OF ETICOGA 5 km - approx 2 hours walk
Hiking with an eco-guide in the forest to the village of Eticoga known for its sanctuary where Queen Okinka Pampa and her family rests. As a place of veneration, it regularly hosts rituals in the company of her descendants and villagers. Visit of the women's association and their handicraft and horticultural work. Dinner and Night at Orango Parque Hotel.
DAY 4: ORANGO - LAKE ANOR 20 km -env. 2h boat and approx. 2 hours of walking
Boat trip to the mouth of the river Ancaros in the presence of eco guides. Continuation by foot through the mangrove and savannah to the Anor Lake site and its freshwater pockets where you can still see colonies of sea hippos in peace. Picnic in the savannah and return to Orango Parque Hotel. Dinner and night.
DAY 5: JOAO VIEIRA AND POILAO ISLANDS NATIONAL PARK 50 km. Approx 2 hours by boat
Excursion to Joao Vieira, the island of orchids. During the crossing, we can often meet dolphins ! Continue to the Uninhabited Island of Poilao, the first nesting site for green turtles on the entire West African coast. Accomodation of the bivouac and nocturnal observations of turtles with eco guides. Dinner and overnight in bivouac, by the sea.
DAY 6: POILAO - ORANGO 50 km approx. 2 hours by boat
Back in the morning to the hotel and relaxing day at the beach.
Activities: hiking in the forest, visiting villages, kayaking, fishing ...

DAY 7: ORANGO - QUNIHAMEL -BISSAU approx. 3 hours by boat then 30 minutes drive
Transfer by boat to Quinhamel or Bissau Possibility to shower before going to Bissau airport
