This tour offers a first approach of the South of the country around the theme of cocoa through authentic encounters and visits to essential places. Country lagoons, endless beaches but also savannahs, the country offers striking contrasts between the traditional habitat of remote villages and the hyper modernism of Abidjan, the "little Manhattan of Africa". An original and unforgettable journey with chocolate flavors!

ITINERARY

 

DAY 1: Abidjan
CIArrival in Abidjan
Reception at the airport and transfer to Hotel Wafou *** or similar
Night at the hotel

 

DAY 2: ABIDJAN / DOMAINE BINI: 49km, approx. 45 min

            DOMAINE BINI / YAMOUSSOUKRO: 205 KMS, approx. 2 hours drive
Early departure for Yamoussoukro via Domaine Bini
Hike in the heart of this agricultural and ecological site of 70 ha to discover the primary forest, rubber plantations and various agricultural products such as coffee, cocoa, banana ...... Lunch 100% local area. Possibility of a bath of clay.
Continuation to Yamoussoukro
Installation at Le Brennus hotel
Dinner and overnight at the hotel

 

DAY 3 - YAMOUSSOUKRO
Basilique CIDiscovery of the administrative and political capital of the country since 1983. The city is well known for its imposing Basilica of Our Lady of Peace, replica of St Peter of Rome. Visit the Houphouët Boigny Foundation (search for peace in the world) and the sacred crocodile lake, surrounding the Presidential Palace.
Departure for the neighboring village of Abouakouassikro.
Lunch organized by the villagers, meetings and traditional dance show
Return to the hotel at the end of the day
Dinner and overnight at the hotel

 

DAY 4: YAMOUSSOUKRO / GAGNOA : 139km or 2h drive
            GAGNOA / SOUBRE : 101Km or 1h30 min drive
Early departure for Gagnoa
On-the-go tour of the CNRACC (National Center for Agronomic Research Coffee Cacao) Here, new varieties of grains and pods are regularly developed to follow the evolution of tastes and trends.Lunch at a local restaurant called "maquis" »And continuation to the small town of Soubré, mainly populated by the ethnicity of Bété.Arrival in the afternoon and installation at the Hotel" Le Campement "

DAY 5: SOUBRE
Rivieres CIIn the morning, visit a village plantation to discover the traditional process of growing cocoa. After the siesta, discover the falls of the Nawa, in the heart
of nature and along the Sassandra river. They are surrounded by lush vegetation particularly preserved. Swimming not far from the sacred falls

Return to the hotel "Le Campement" at the end of the day

DAY 6: SOUBRE / DIVO : 180Km, 2h20 min
            DIVO / ABIDJAN : 185Km or 2h30min
Early departure for Divo, an intermediate town populated by the Djibouas.
Lunch maquis and continuation on Abidjan. This sprawling city of 5 million inhabitants is surrounded by numerous lagoons that are crossed by gigantic bridges. City tour of the economic capital of the country, often called "Manhattan of the tropics": The St Paul's Cathedral, the plateau district, the craft center, the residential area of Cocody from which stands the iconic hotel Ivoire. Continuation through the neighborhoods of the port where emanate, by puffs, sweetish smells of chocolate from the packing plants. Installation at the hotel Wafou. Gourmet dinner at the hotel. All dishes on the menu will be chocolate-based.

DAY 7: ABIDJAN / GRAND BASSAM : 41Km, 30 minutes
            GRAND BASSAM / ASSINIE : 63km, 1 hour drive
Bassam

Departure for Grand Bassam, 1st capital of Ivory Coast classified in the UNESCO World Heritage and famous for its popular beaches. Visit colonial buildings, traditional costume museum, arts and crafts center and souvenir market

Lunch on the beach of Assoyam, in the shade of coconut trees and continuation on Assinie, crossing gigantic pineapple. Visit of the Dipi Animal Farm, mainly dedicated to crocodiles and set up at the African Queen Lodge
Dinner and overnight at the hotel

 

DAY 8: ASSINIE / ABIDJAN : 102Km, or 1h30 min drive
Day of relaxation in Assinie, paradise site between lagoon and coconut groves.
Return to Abidjan at the end of the afternoon.
Dinner at the Onomo Hotel and transfer to the airport, nearby.
